Working out after being pregnant

The choice of a pattern to workout after pregnancy could be problematic. Women recover differently after the baby is born; the number of accumulated pounds also matters here too, in addition to several other factors. It is dangerous to start physical activity before full recovery for the simple fact that this could lead to a serious deterioration of the health condition. Bleeding, muscle injury, anemia, hypo-calcemia and lots of other problems could appear.

An easy workout after pregnancy would be brisk walking, but preferable two or three weeks after delivery. You can easily start by taking your baby out with the cradle and walk in the park. Jogging is not a good idea here. You can also use the stationary bike or the treadmill to get back in a good shape. Whichever be the case, take up some light physical activity and stick to it for two or three weeks before increasing the effort and the difficulty level.

Swimming can also help you workout after pregnancy without too much effort, but once again only when the new mom is physically able for it. The doctor will give you the green light for it after the periodical examination, when the full healing of the uterine wound is noticeable. Pilates and some yoga postures are also great for new moms, not to mention that they are successfully used during pregnancy as well. However, such exercises are best practiced in an organized environment so that you receive guidance and possible support.

A good set of exercises that help you workout after pregnancy may sometimes be elaborated together with a fitness trainer. This is the chance to customize the training and use the exact type of physical activity that matches your condition best. Don’t push too hard when you workout after pregnancy, because this may backfire. Stop right away if you experience dizziness, sudden headaches, muscle cramps, tiredness or limbs shaking, and contact the doctor.

If you use physical training to lose the extra pounds accumulated during pregnancy, make sure you support the effort with a good diet. Food provides the nutrients that help you keep going. New moms are subject to so much stress; they worry, they feel overwhelmed carrying for their baby, they  even feel scared with the new responsibility. All these could have a serious impact on the psyche, and the woman should therefore avoid putting too much pressure on herself by training hard. Wearing yourself out won’t do much good!

People suffer from infertility due to numerous reasons. Natural infertility cures are quintessential for those who suffer from this issue. Infertility in women can be born out of endometriosis, diminished ovarian reserve, ovulation disorders, and low progesterone levels. There are scheduled drugs and systematic treatments to cure infertility. However, if the cause of infertility is ageing or chronic disease then these treatments are useless. At the same time, it should also be noted that these expensive treatments have tremendous and harmful side-effects. Curing these side-effects can prove more expensive and even more troublesome than the real issue. Nevertheless, there are holistic infertility cures that give only benefits and no side-effects. Let’s take a look at them:

1. The Right Diet:

All the facts are known…our bodies must have the right vitamins and nutrients to function properly and we must avoid eating heavily processed foods which contain chemicals and compounds which harm us. Eating food rich in vitamin E such as nuts, eggs increase fertility. A diet rich in green leafy vegetables and water cress will also help in reducing infertility. Vitamin E aids in regulating production of hormones by revitalizing the endocrine system. Omega -3 fatty acids are extremely beneficial when it comes to getting rid of infertility. Eating fish, nuts, seeds, beans and unrefined vegetable oils is good for those women who wish to get pregnant. Food items containing Vitamin – B6 and B12 are also great infertility cures. Regular intake of food items rich in Vitamin C, Zinc and folic acid will help in decreasing infertility to a great extent. However, excessive intake of Zinc should be avoided. Flax seeds are rich in fatty acids and are highly recommended for curing infertility. Avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol as well as smoking as they promote infertility. Proper diet is one of the best infertility cures as it is an extremely low-cost option without any side-effects.

2. Proper Exercise:

Holistic methods of exercises are not just fashionable but are equally beneficial. Performing relaxation exercises such as deep breathing, prayer, and meditation every day for 10 to 15 minutes is recommended for curing infertility. Performing Yoga regularly is a good method for this and helps in curing infertility. Holistic exercises are essential and extremely beneficial infertility cures.

3. Ayurveda:

Science of Ayurveda which was invented in India has many natural infertility cures. Licorice and garlic is considered to increase fertility of reproductive organs. Regular intake of licorice can stop infertility. Another ayurvedic cure for infertility is eating jamun [Indian plum]. Jamun should be taken with honey on a regular basis to cure infertility. Yoga was also invented in India. Certain yogaasanas [postures] have proven to be effective for curing female infertility; these are as follows:

Paschimottanasana

Sarvangasana

Shallabasana

Ardhamatsyendrasana

Another recommended ayurvedic cure for female infertility is eating curd and paneer [cottage cheese] on an everyday basis. Ayurvedic mud-packs that are traditionally known as Ubtans should be applied on reproductive organs and abdomen to increase fertility.
However, the one that is considered to be one of the best ayurvedic infertility cures is drinking a mixture of powdered roots of a banyan tree and milk on the same night when your periods get over. This process should be carried on for about 6 months to a year.

The above infertility cures are holistic, inexpensive and highly-effective. If you follow these 3 amazing infertility cures then you may become the next supermom of 5-6 kids. So, don’t waste time, get started now!

Are you trying to get pregnant after 40?

Are you in your 40s and trying to get pregnant?  If so you definitely are not alone.  More and more women are waiting until they are older and have a career established before starting a family.

It is perfectly normaly to give birth once you are over 40 I hate the way people think you are totally past it and to forget about it once you say goodbye to 39.  I myself am pregnant and, all going well, I will give birth just 3 weeks before my 40th birthday.  I think nothing of being pregnant at my age and have friends and relations my age and older expecting and we all think we are the right age.

Now I know your chances of things going wrong do increase over the age of 35 and the chances of becoming pregnant over this age do decrease but it is still very attainable to become pregnant over the age of 40.

You hear all sorts of old wives tales about certain positions and all sorts of weird and wonderful things.  I heard that if the male eats prawns it increases his sperm count so my poor husband was on a diet of pure prawns a few months before I became pregnant, I dread to think what his cholestrol level is now but at least I am pregnant!!!

However research has been done and apparently if you eat certain foods and drinks you can increase your chances of conceiving.  Even certain makeup, yes makeup, can be harmful.  Chinese medicine is supposed to be very helpful and apparently the following herbs have beneficial properties when it comes to getting pregnant:

Chaste Tree Berry: chaste tree berry can improve women’s chances of conceiving because it helps reduce hormonal imbalances; it also stimulates the action of pituitary gland, increasing progesterone and luitenizing hormone production, which helps to regulate the menstrual cycle. This herb also reduces stress levels, which in turn has a beneficial impact on reproduction health and daily use promotes fertility
Dong Quai: this herb improves your chances of getting pregnant by balancing estrogen and by regulating menstrual cycles. It can also improve implantation of the egg for women with autoimmune problems. However, dong quai is also a blood thinner and should therefore not be used during menstruation.
False Unicorn Root: this herb improves reproductive health and has a normalizing effect on the ovaries. However, taking too much false unicorn root can result in blurred vision, kidney or stomach irritation and vomiting
Wild Yam: wild yam increases the production of progesterone and therefore increases your chances of getting pregnant. Wild yam should always be taken after ovulation occurs, as taking this herb before ovulation can actually prevent ovulation from taking place, thereby reducing fertility

It is always important to consult with your doctor or fertility specialist about taking any herbs, as even some popular herbs are not properly regulated. Also, some herbs that are popular in promoting pregnancy can actually be unsafe; for example, a recent study found that ginseng is a particularly dangerous herb to take while pregnant.

In addition, while black and blue cohosh are both commonly prescribed herbs for improving fertility, they can also carry some serious health risks. Neither of these herbs should be taken when trying to get pregnant, or when there is a chance that an egg has been fertilized. That is because black and blue cohosh are emmengogues, meaning they are uterine tonics which can cause contractions and have adverse effects on implantation.

Here are some more tips on taking herbs while trying to get pregnant:

only take herbs when you know you have a fertility problem that herbs can help with
never self-medicate. Always consult a qualified medical herbalist before taking any herb
tell your herbalist about any other medication you are taking and that you are trying to get pregnant
be honest with your doctor/fertility specialist and tell him about any herbal fertility supplements you are currently taking or that you have taken in the past

I wish you good luck in your journey and hopefully the world will be a fuller place soon.
